Ford Escape Issues..please help.

I have a buddy who has an 02 Ford Escape 4banger. His battery doesnt seem to stay charged and his radio will not read cds and cuts out every 30 seconds while playing the radio. He also said the radio resets evertime he is able to start the truck(battery being recently charged). He also said while the truck is running he can pull the radio fuse from the fuse box and the truck will shut off completely. Sounds like something is wrong with the ignition to me...any ideas guys????

oh and this is a factory radio too...nothing has been modified.

had the alternator checked?

alternator is fine...

sounds like an electrical wiring issue to me. start looking for damaged wiring or loose connections at the fuse panel, grounds, etc.. have you tried calling Ford to see if this is a common problem? it can be really hard to get them to talk because they just always want to default to "come on in and we'll check it out for you" but maybe a few minutes searching google would turn up something that may be able to help.
