NEED HELP ASAP!!!!

i know theres alot of threads bout building frame tables but what i need to know is   would 2x3 1/8" thick be strong enough if i were stand it up so that the 3" side is vertical  a by the way its going to be 6x16 and i planned on runinng 4 pieces 16ft then put a cross brace every 2ft connecting it all together the plating a 2ft strip on each side with 3/16 sheet metal do you think this way would be over kill        if so what so yall suggest     please no stupid comments i just need help  thanks in advance
