i just got dont changing the drum brakes on my 96 tacoma and when i tested it by pressing the brake pedal in i notice that the adjuster pops out of its slot when the brake is pressed twice, is this supposed to happen? see pictures first picture is before second is after brake pedal is pressed

and this next one is after the brake pedal is pressed:

if its not supposed to do this how can i fix it?

it will not do that after the drum is back on, the lack of a drum is allowing the wheel cyl to extend too far. rule of thumb is to NEVER push the brake pedal with the drums off, usually the wheel cyl will blow apart.

are you hitting the pedal without the drum on? thats going to happen if you are...theres nothing to hold it in place once its extended...
