make sure they are for the right year tacoma?.....I have a set that came in the glove box of the taco I just got and they dont fit very well either. And on the back of the filler peices I noticed they were made for a 95'-96' model, they must me different for 97'-00'....... that might be some of your fitment problem?

nah they are for a 98 cause the time when i went to get the hood i didnt see them and the second time i went to get something off the same truck they were inside under some stuff and i guess someone took them off the get the damn brackets i need cause they left the headlights without the bracket you could tell they were on the lights but there was an outline where the clip was on the plastic of the headlight mount

also bought a new one to check fitment and they are the ones they just dont contour to the bottom of the headlight like i would like ..i may try and another set to see if the fit better ...i wanted to buy a phantom for a 95 and cut it for the lights that way the grill would continue under the lights ...really didnt want to bring that up cause i know someone else will try it

i just welded mine up and left the bolt out it works just fine i also cut a slot in the end of the piece where it bolts to the head light that way i dident have to remove the grill every time i had  to take the fender off
