installed new bars on bobber and now push button start wont work

any ideas why??? i installed new powdercoate drag bars for my bobber and now the start kill control doesnt work it was fine before everything now i do know the right side where these controls are on had a non painted bare metal side but only goes as far as the grip do i need to sand it to the controls for a grounding purpose?

Might need a ground.  I'm not sure how your controls are.  My new bike has a wired ground, while my old bike grounded through the bars.  I had the same problem after I changed my bars.
