Installing Coilsprings in 01 jimmy

Alright what is the best/easiest way to install just front coil springs/drop shocks in the front of a 01 jimmy? I just have basic hand tools and a jack. Dont mind breaking ball joints loose if i need too. Keep finding different ways, Please some advice...... Thanks!!

Jack it up, put it on some jack stands. Take your tire and wheel off. Put your jack under the lower control arm to keep tension on the spring. Bust the lower ball joint loose and ease down the jack.

So it would be easier to take the bottom ball joint off? I've had some people tell me to take the upper one off and crow bar the coil out of there.
