I just ran both trucks, the 92 with one viair 380(3yrs old) and one 5 gallon tank from 0-145psi, and the 94 with two viair 450's(7yrs old) and two 5 gallon tanks from 0-175psi both trucks with the engine not running hooked to a battery charger maintaining between 11.8 and 12.5 volts. The 92 took 10 minutes to fill and the 94 took 34 minutes to fill!! I think I need to replace those 450's with the new 444's!

i have dual 480s that are a year old, on 6 gallons of air, and it takes 3min to recover from 165 to 200psi, its supposed to take 1min 19sec, im not impressed with my compressors... when i had them on 5 gallons they werent that bad, i never calculated the time though

Jeremy, what size wire are you running? My 444s fill my 3 gallon tank 0-145 psi in just about 1 minute, maybe a few seconds over. Andrew, get with Ray @ Universal Air Suspension! http://www.myspace.com/universalairsuspension  Hes a good guy to deal with, fast shipping & the lowest pricing on a set I believe!

i think a lot of your problems are coming from your voltage. from my experience there is a huge difference between running mine at 11.8 volts and say 13 volts, almost like adding another compressor difference. also don't forget that the 450s aren't rated for more than 150 psi so pushing them to 175 isn't helping any. also viair probably rates their fill times at a very unrealistic 14+ volts that most people don't see with a truck idling with a constant 40 amp draw on top of everything else running.  the 380s are clocked at 7 min 20 sec for 0-145 on a 5 gallon tank. so considering your lower voltage 10 minutes isn't too far off.

But those 450's are toast! I know that they are only rated at 150psi but I have been running them to 175psi for 7 years now, so yeah they are pretty much done for! lol. They still work but I've just noticed that they have started to take a lot longer to fill than they used too, even with the truck running.

I use a stiger type relay, and i have 4 gauge wire running to that for my main power, and then i have the compressors wired directly to the relay, no undersized wire at all... plus im running a group 31 battery, and i have a 140 amp alternator, i havent checked to see what my actual voltage is at the compressors though, ill have to look into that
