dash swap

i have 94 ranger and want to update my dash to a newer ranger dash...anyone knows whats involved..   is it a straight bolt in or needs modifications

I hope some one can answer this cause  I want to do the same thing only to my Suburban..........

anyone...im sure someone has done it    

The swap from a 94 to the 95 up ranger dash is not a bolt in deal.. First all of the wiring is different. The older speedo is mech while the newer is electric. The dash supports, mounting points and innards are different as well.. I did the swap on my old 94.. I had a thread about how to do it on RPS back when i did it.. Heres a list of what I remember your going to need.. complete 95 up dash, inner section, heater box, switchs, wiring, EVERYTHING, You will then need a dakota digital speedo adapter.. I also had all the wire diagrams from both my 94 and the 97 my dash came from.. It was a pita to get the wiring right. I would suggest doing a better swap like a mustang or a classic then going with auto meter gauges..
