I just bought a 95 Chevy 3500 crew cab dually 2wd. Ive got to lower it. I have been doing some research and have read abit about the 5/7 western chassis drop kit from sporttruck direct. Seems like a pretty good deal. I have never heard of them before though. The other one ive found is a 6/8 from belltech at almost twice the price! I will be driving this truck everyday, including the Canadian winter. 5/7 seems drivable, and 6/8 sounds like it might be too low for winter up here. Lookin for your two cents. Also, I need to put on new tires anyways, so i want tires that will fit the drop accordingly. What sizes should i run? Suggestions?

western chassis has been around a long time, good parts, I dont think ive ever heard anything bad about them, even using western chassis parts and swapping somethigns around you could still get a 6-8 drop, and tire wise, it all depends on the amount of drop you decide to do and are you going to plus size your wheels ? 17's ? 19's ? ect ect. just break out the tape measure and see if the tires will hit or rub after the drop. you could prolly get away running the stocks in the rear and dropping a series number in the front and being good if you stay with the stock 16s

I will be keeping the stock 16s for now, and id like to keep a "normalish" sized tire on it (nothing tiny and stupid). I need to put tires on it to get it home (its 8 hrs away), so i will be lowering it after. I have priced out some DJM aswell, and they are comparable $$ to Western Chassis. I have used DJM before on a 01 gm rcsb and was very satisfied. I know with spindles some times you need to up your wheel size, but i dont know if that applies to a dually. Im looking at a 3" spindle, 2" coil, and 7" flip kit.Anyone got any pics of static dropped 88-98 duallys?

ask the guys over on duallyscene.com. thats a common question over there. might even be able to look around on that forum and find a answer without even having to sign up. i too have a 97 3500 and as of recently been thinkin bout lowering it too. looks exactly like yours.

Thanks bro. I posted there this morning, but no reply yet. Figured i may as well try some luck here. A second opinion is always good.
