What brand of silver leaf is the best and how do you make it look seamless? What is the best way to get clear coat to stick to the silver leaf? And should i add another stripe or two done the side of my Tacoma?http://s945.photobucket.com/albums/ad300/bodiedtaco/before%20redo%202/

I haven't used it enough to know what brands are best, but i can tell ya that you normally don't have to worry about 'seams' as long as you keep it random... they should just blend together as your stick n liftin', randomly twisting and turning your sheet so as to not get strait vertical lines from the edges of the foil...

la dore is a common brand, and thats what i use. if ur doing long thin graphics of leaf, use the roll not the sheets, its a bitch to not get any seams on it. dont bother taping on the stuff. it should be the last part of ur graphic.  use adhesion promoter such as house of kolor ap01 on the leaf, and it will help with the adhesion, if not, u can put tape on the clear thats over it and it will pull the clear everytime.

Hey Sik, do you prefer the liquid sizing (adhesive) or the spray type?

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by seanbHey Sik, do you prefer the liquid sizing (adhesive) or the spray type? ---------------------------------------------i use a couple. one shot fast dry. which is about a 20 min. size. or slow which is about an hour. or even tried rolco's u can leave it on over nite and has less room for error. i used to use waterbased size like the la dore, but it leaves brush strokes in it, the other stuff lays better. i brush it on, and mix a little immitation gold one shot to give it a tint so it shows up. u can spray out of an airbrush or detail gun if u dont want to see brush strokes. looks better but not the old school feel.
