I've had these about a year. Just noticed the tear the other day. From the looks of it, the tear is in the crease of the bag as you can see in the second picture. Therefore, that part of the bag isn't rubbing the mount. Just wanted a second opinion on whether this is a bag failure or bad install. I think most of our bags touch the face of the mounting plate like this. If its a bag failure, do I call Slam directly or go through the place I bought the bags? Is this something they'll replace for free?

Ive had them on my truck with no issues but a buddy of mine had this same problem a while ago and Slam Specialties totally took care of him....replaced the bags and were really easy to deal with...from what I've seen and heard, they're very stand up...get in touch with them

from what it looks like to me, is that the sharp edge on the upper bag mount may have started the cut and then it just ran along the seam, stretching it throughout the suspension cycle, stretching the bag at lift as seen in the 3rd picture.it's always hard to be for sure in a picture though, get ahold of them and see what they say. what can it hurt? if you do end up replacing it, you might want to clean those edges up a bit anyway.

The tear is in the crease. Now im not sure if I should just bolt a new one in the same place or not, because about 95% of upper bag brackets are going to touch the bag when its collapsed like mine do. Unless I have a circular bag bracket that is the exact size of the upper bag plate and is connected directly on top with some tubing or something....

Just had some Slam bags replaced that were a couple years old because of the cracking around the plates, no questions asked. Give them a call or send an e-mail through their website warranty page to see if they can cover it. Great bunch of people taking care of their name. Thanks to Nick,Tim and Diane for taking care of this.
