Hey what's up! Long time no thread lol I had a friend from new york with a very sick VIP style Q (with a Bentley front end lol) sent me his gas door to have a little Michael Jackson mural airbrushed on the inside of the gas door. I'm kinda new to the VIP scene but apparently they don't go to crazy with the paint and airbrushing unless it's hidden in a fashionable manner lol.
So this is going to be a very small mural and a rather short thread haha!
Ok so,...this is what I started with, Just a raw gas door

After a little epoxy primer and some minor body work, and a little bit of 600 grit lovin' I was ready to start on Mr. MJ.
So, first things first (and since I don't know what I'm doing lol) I'm always start with a hard line stencil of the eyes
Next I roughly fog in his features with white base coat......
Next with an over reduced black base I begin to slowly define the detail, starting with the left side.....(I also add a little binder in the mix to keep the integrity of the base in tact, and to help with transparency )
In this pic you can see I have the basic features mapped out, now I just need to sharpen the fine detail...
I added in his collar and it all started to come together......
After adding a few minor details I was finished shading with the back.
And after a few highlights and hot spots I was happy enough to call it a day lol
Now I just need to nit pick a few things and bury his ass in clear!!!
This is one of the first murals I've ever done (other than the ass-n-tity impala haha) hope you like
