So my brother bought a 2005 crew cab duramx dually.  The truck was already bagged in the rear and set up with 2feet worth of semi rims.  So the task at hand is to get the front down so this big bitch can drag!

First thing was to get the front of the truck torn down and prep the frame to weld the bag mounts on.  We cut the lower bumpstop mounts out
and had to trim the pockets around the lower control arm mounts.

Time to get rid of DJMs garbadge ball joints.

Also had to take about an inch out of the uppers so they would camber correctly with the Mcgauphys drop spindles

Next up was the upper bag mount.  Thanks to The Chopping Block for the design they use. I stole there design because it works great and its crazy stong.

Next problem was the steering.  neither the outer joint nor the inner joint would travel far enought to lay the truck out.  So we built a clevis for the inner balljoint and build a new tie rod with custom tapered spacers with 5/8 hiems.

We cut the shock mount off the lower arm and plated the arm for the lower bag mount.

Alright so at this point the truck is sitting on the front wheelwells about and inch and half off the ground.  Need to do a little trimming under the hood and firewall to get this thing down the rest of the way.

Looks awesome Day Bros! I can't wait to see Andy's new dually after he gets it all tuned up. The Day bros are now the dually bros, lol.

Thanks. Andy did some killer work on the front of this thing. I wanted it to be solid. All the arms and steering components are tig welded. The next task will be to cut it up in the front to let the tires hide some more.

Love it

Thanks guys.  Its crazy how heavy the shit is on this truck.  The brake rotor alone probly weights about 80 lbs.  Lets just say bolting the suspension back together to cycle it was a pain in the ass.

It's funny because I've seen your truck on a couple different sites and I loved how it looked. My axle is narrowed a lot. The rear build of my truck was done when the previous owner had it. It was done by a local shop here in AZ, SDHQ. The rear is way over built but the truck drives awesome. Took it in for an alignment today and everything is straight.

How much is cut out in the front of your truck to lay the full frame? Hopefully you'll have that thing at WCN. It would be cool to take twin pictures.

--------------------------------------------- thanks man! i wanted to narrow my axel but not till the rebuild! i just did it this way to see if it could be done and look right. im still up in the air about it. i think i saw some pictures of it before. the funny thing is about my truck, i still have inner fenders in the front and my stock tubs in the back and it lays the skid plate and back of the frame. my truck needs to be z'd and i dont know why. i mean the tires are on them, but it lays. i wont be at wcn this year man. im going to ra. but not taking my truck. itll be cut apart. heres a rendering of the cat outta the bag thanks to nick at surface!

the grill will be stock painted how it is now. no rbp grill. and the clearence lights will be smoked. also all wheels will be 24's and all the kenworth style. unless i get the sponsership ive been working on. going to try for sema 11
