so i was thinking about putting a 01 taco clip on my 88 toyota truck seen it done before but was needing some to see some more pics on this done and how they did it thanks
Why would you want to do that? The tacoma is wider, gets more bump steer and is more work to lay out. I have seen people clip their tacoma with the earlier years, but never the other way around. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
i have a 85 toyota with a 03 front end, i still have to put the corners in and hood and bumper lol so far grill and headlights are on and fenders are re shaped in the ends for the corner. when i get back on the project im using one inch of the original hood all the way around and the rest from the newer year
There are alot of different ways that you could do it. I feel the best way is how he ^^^^ did it. Keep the 80s body lines and just graft the front section of the new front end in. It would probly be easiest to get a core support from a tacoma so the grill and headlights all bolt up. Once you have the old fenders bolted to the new core support you could just start cutting to make room for the new corner lights. I think the most work is going to be the hood. My hood was by far the hardest part. I would probly get a hood off of the newer tacoma and cut the hood skin loose from the structure. then just weld it to the old hood leaving an inch or so of the old hood on the edge. That way all you gaps still line up and you will still have the right curve at the front of the hood for the newer grill. You going to have to make new bumper mounts but thats pretty easy. Hope this helps
