which came first - the commercials or the video

does anyone remeber those old Mentos commercials with the woman who was blocked in her parking space so she got four construction workers to move it out, or where the guy couldnt cross the street because a limo got in the way so he opened the door and went through? well i was wondering if the Foo Fighters video for Big Me was a spoof of these commercials or if the idea for the commercials came from the video. it seems pretty obvious that the commercials came first but you never know
