How do you find a shock with as much travel as a RE8 Slam Specialties bag? Or do the shocks just bottom out when laid out and then max out when aired up? I would think that would be bad for the shocks but I don't know. I was looking at the Bilstein shocks that Grant Kustoms sales and if I am looking at it right they only get 4.8" of travel. Am I looking at that correctly? Here is a link to the shocks I am talking about... http://grantkustoms.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=121&products_id=581&osCsid=573fbe06b362432d91121b5eb2552798

Yeah thats right, 4.8" of travel. If you set the shocks up right though you can still get the bags full lift & only use that much shock travel. On my old Toyota, we set the shocks up on the lower bars forward of the bags at a slight angle to swing down as the truck got lift like a shock on a car hatch. Worked really good, rode very nice. I was able to get 13"-15" of lift on 5"-5.5" of shock travel!

I went out and measured my rear laid out and at full lift and I get 6.5" of shock travel. I didn't measure it when I got done with it so I didn't even know haha. I get about 12-12.5" of lift in the rear and the shock travel is about half that. Thanks for the input man, now I just need to get my shocks on order so I can do the front.
