How have some of you guys that used the stock tank mount it in the rear? 89 std cab is what i'm working on. Have an idea but I would like to keep the thank level with the mounting flange slanted like stock just sideways in the back.

you cant really see how i made the mounts but i cut the rear crossmember and plated the ends with 1/8" plate and it is cut at the proper angle for the gas tank to set and then i just drilled a few holes and bolted it down

I have an excab but I put mine in the rear aswell. I put a piece of 2x3 in the very rear an cut the spare tire mount out. Them made some brackets to hold the tank out of 1/4" steel
