My horror story.

September 8th I went into surgery for a kidney removal... The surgery was botched! I died twice on the table, and I been in the hospital for a month and a half. I just got out but no recovered. The docs butchered my insides... My colon is sticking out my belly right now. My stomach isnt sewed up yet either, its like a slice of watermelon missing on my belly.

During the whole thing my entire family was freaking out except for my wife. She didnt even hold my hand when i stretched out for her. We are now seperating.

We have slight debt, and my truck is in my name. Can she take it?

Damn bro keep your head up! As far the truck.... I think the value of the truck will have to split between you both. So if you can come up with half the value then you should be able to keep it. I dont know for sure though. Maybe you can just sign the title over to a family member for now.

So was the surgery elective? Sounds like a good lawsuit if it wasnt.
So I say just get the divorce over so you dont have to split any money you get in a settlement.
But yes, unless you had a prenup, she owns half of everything.

Damn man! Keep your head up!!! My brother went through the same thing about his vehicles, he had 3 and all was in his name, no prenup or anything. When they took it to court the judge told them the titles are in his name and there's nothing she could do about it. Like someone already said maybe get a family to temporary sign the title until all is over.

that really sucks man. As for the truck like others have said she owns half, BUT you can take on more of the debt or give her a different asset to make up for the truck. The judges just want to know that you split the wealth evenly not necessaraly split specific items and I am sure you can make the case that the truck is something you built, wanted, etc etc.

Glad you are out of the hospital, hopefully you recover soon bud. I don't think she can take it but if you think she may come after it, sell the truck to a family member for $1.00 then give her her half. That is all she is entitled to.

Did you own the truck before you got married? If so, in most states, she has no rights to it. Also, if you know you're going to get a divorce don't start selling stuff off unless you can show you got a fair price for it and can say you needed the money to cover bills or expenses directly related to the divorce or she can fuck you bad. I'm going through a divorce right now myself and I know how it feels to have to worry about losing your ride(s). Fortunately for me I was able to work things out with her to keep most of my stuff.
