Dont use a 98 ranger clip. 98 and up ranger clips are a pain in the ass to bag, Ive seen it attempted before. The rack and pinion sucks and gets in the way, the steering shaft gets in the way of any bigger engine, the lower control arm mounts get right in the way of the engine and exhaust. the engine crossmember is huge and also gets in the way. Stupid balljoints wont lay and the upper control arms are short No1 makes drop spindles for it last time i checked.
You want a good front clip to swap in there get a 95 or older 2wd toyota pickup clip. Same lug pattern as ford and way easier. Theyre narrow to allow you to tuck, lots of room for any motor to fit, and simple. Lots of people have swapped this clip into ford rangers and other kinds of vehicles, theres a bunch of guys on here who have done it.
Nice car btw.
