looking at buying a 94 4runner 2wd parts truck for several items, but it is six lug and i want the 5x4.5 lug pattern, was it only on the pickups? anyway how hard would it be to convert the pattern up front? im not a toyota expert, i would guess just change the rotors out? (i planned to upgrade the brakes anyway) is that all it really needs?
help someone because its super cheap and i gotta move on this deal before someone else or before it gets turned into scrap.
The 4runners are set-up more like the 4wd trucks. Only way to 5 lug that I know of is to put the 4runner body on a 2wd chassis. I think the core support and front body mounts will line up and you will have to move the rest. And do something with the gas tank.
If they do it like the isuzu did the amigo, you can just swap just the front sub frame, its the same width, and like Ryan said, the core support will line up, makes everything much easier at that point.
well actually im going to use the toyota as a sub frame thats why i wasnt sure if i could just switch the rotors... its a 2wd 4runner parts truck that im wanting to use the front suspension for its geometry as a whole front clip. Twisted minis Seth might know i need to ask him if the front susp. of the 94 4runner 2wd 6 lug is the same as a 89-95 toyota pickup 2wd front susp. 5 lug.
did that make sense? i hope im not getting this all jacked up.
the 94 2wd 4runner is the only thing ive found in my area and budget as a way to acquire a COMPLETE 2wd toyota front suspension.
also this truck has no wheels and tires on it, (freind of mine has some) would the chevy z71 whels fit or would the center bore be too small on the wheels?
Thats what I was saying the 2wd 4runner is no-where near a 2wd pickup. A 2wd 89-95 4runner is like a Pre-Runner Tacoma. Everything a 4wd has except the front axles, diff, and transfer case. The 2wd 4runner front clip is useless.
If you were closer to Louisiana I got 2 front clips hanging out in my yard.
