ive got 2 AZ compressors im wiring up, there not the new obd2, the older version with the cooling fan on top (both are new though). what i have now is battery-->dual 4gauge wire--->dual 100amp circuit breakers 12" from the battery--->dual 8 gauge wires--> dual az 80 amp relays--->dual 8gauge wire back to each compressor at the rear of the truck. my issue is that when the compressors are running ill trip one circuit breaker then about a minute later the other will trip, i have 7-8gal (approx.) tank. i heard about adding a fuse inline for both comps.and that should solve the breakers from tripping not real sure why that would help. ive seen so many different ways to wire these up, in fact i have 2 separate az diagrams that are both different. what should i do? go up a size in wire back to the compressors? add a fuse for each?

you should run four gauge wire as back as possible to the compressors. I have to in my girls magnum and i use a 200 amp battery isolater as my relay. never had a problem

run 2 gauge, or 00 gauge off of the battery into a 150-200 amp fuse, the run it all the way to the back into a distribution block, then 4 gauge to the comps.

if you kicking a 100 amp circuit breaker I think you have bigger issues. That should be more than enough to handle 1 AZ compressor. It seems that they call for no more than a 70 amp fuse for all of their compressors. I would start looking for loose connections or bad grounds

I think you have to many fail points in your system. Fuse, breaker, Relay, and distribution block... I bet if you ground better and get rid of the breaker, it will be all good. I ran 4 gauge on my dual viair 480s and it was fine.
