Have a slammed 97 chevy crewcab dually i drive daily, want to either put 22 or 24 inch Petes on but didnt know what kinda problems i would run into or wear out on the truck with the 24s. Not so much worried about running 22s to give me more clearance with bigger lowprofile tire.....but just want to know the PROs and CONs of the two.

Thanks

One of my customers has a bagged 95 i believe and is running 22.5s that have been milled down to a 22 and like a 265/35 tire and he had to stretch the rear fenders about 2 inches to clear. But is also running the stock inside wheel so if you want 22s or 24s all the way the rear fenders are gonna be a problem.

You will get some good solid answers on this topic over at duallyscene.com , then can list you the facts of what you will and wont have to do.

You wont have any issues with wearing out parts any faster, they are a direct replacment for you, all you will need is some 8 to 10 lug adaptors, and wheels and tires. There are a lot of people that daily drive on the 22 or 24 combo. Allways go with a set of milled down wheels, never try to stretch your tire to fit on a 22.5 or 24.5 , there are people that do it, and have terrible outcome.

Purchasing a new or used vehicle means going over list after list of things to watch for. Most lists put the profile of the tires very low on the list of things to search for. Making the selection between low-profile and regular tires might seem minor. The choice, however, can have a big impact on the performance and maintenance costs of your car. Low-profile tires are costly and difficult to drive with. Before determining on this option, you need to know what you are getting yourself into.

Low profile tires are difficult to dive on? How so? If you have atleast a 35 series tire...you won't experience anymore issues than u would with regular tire unless your hopping curbs or mudding. I'd say get the 24's and floss the shit outta em!!!

You will not have any major problems when running these wheels on the truck unless you have a weak spot in the suspension or drivetrain already. The added weight of these wheels will exploit a weak ball joint or tie rod in a hurry.

Another thing you are going to have to think about is the fitment of the wheels to the truck. Most of these wheels stick out past the fenders on the Chevy trucks in your body style. Here are some pictures you can look over for some ideas.

All of these have 22s and are lowered or have the basic airride on them.

If you have any questions or need some prices just give us a call and we will be more than happy to help you out.
