I just got a 280amp alt for my ride from DC Power, they told me i could upgrade it at any time for the difference of price.
Its a $400 alternator but theres a reason for it.

I have always taken mine to the local alt shop (monroe alt) and they can beef up ur current one up to the max space in the case you have. It usually costs about $100 that includes him taking it off and putting it on. Id call your local alt shop and talk to them. My 93 egt went from 60 amp to 180 amp, and my 03 f150 went from 100 to 150 amps both with lifetime warranty.

mechman alternators all the way! customer service is unreal. I wouldn't even think twice about going anywhere else

Watch these 3 videos and I bet you will feel the same way. If you watch the first video and go with another brand, you're insane. 6 figure alt machine. 1 of only 5 in the entire world

Im glad this topic came up. Im looking at getting a higher amp alternator for my s-10 blazer. Are Tuff Stuff performance alternators a good brand? I found one on Edlebrock.com for $195. Its powder coated black with billet pulley and 160 amp.
