Questions about toyota clip on a 91 ranger??????????

I'm considering doing the swap, from what year toyota would I need the clip from and will it lay out on 20s with stock control arms and spindles?

I know theres some guys that have done this so any input would help but I really need to do this soon if I'm going to do it

84-94 yota I would highly suggest getting a set of drop spindles and Cando arms, I sell both if you are interested. Also there are a couple people with build threads on rangerpowersports.com doing the swap.

i would love drop spindles and cando arms but the reason im considering doing the swap is to save money. i only have a few months and very minimum extra cash to do it before i leave for the military. but is it possible to lay on 20s with that clip and what should i do about steering, can i use my factory column or do i need the toyota column

You need spindles, plain and simple. Check out AIM for them, they aren't really that expensive anyways. A set of tube uppers will help you clear the upper bag mount which will help you get max lift. You can adapt the ford steering column to the toyota steering box as well. Keef had a ranger build thread on here a little while ago that had some pretty good pix of a clip swap in it if you are looking for some visual aid on the subject.

I have a Hydroholics setup so bag mounts are non existant lol so I'm guessing the cylinders should clear. You wouldnt happen to have a link to Keefs build would you?

This is Keefs build thread that I mentioned before, it has some pretty decent pix in it. You deff shouldn't have any bag mount clearance issues with your hydros either, lol. Good luck bro

pie cut the uppers which way and whats this going to do for me? i have 245/35/20 dunlop sp sport maxx tires

prolly flip lower BJ as well. pie cut the uppers so the bj doesnt bind. and youll need a smaller tire then that.

i got 79 clip on 18s with 225 40 18 and have a lil extra room prolly need 225 30 20
