Hello,

My names Ben, but family and friends call me Buckshot. Originally from Michigan I moved to Indy three years ago to work for Cummins, worked as a technician for few years and now I'm a Service Engineer. Hypocrisy when you think diesel you think large powerful truck... not the norm here... power yeah it'll have it... but i'm going for mileage. I drive about 62 miles a day to work. I set out to buy a vehicle that got great mileage and was cheap to maintain. First I thought I would look for a diesel VW, but they hold their value and have wiring issues. So then I set out for a mini truck

here is a little info on CNG and diesel... Cummins Produces natural gas engines... but if you combine NG and Diesel you get the best of both worlds... we have a joint venture with Westport... check out their technology...

anything for a pickup isn't going to be direct injection so i will have to go with a fumigation set up something simular to this... I"m shopping... some site i've looked at..

Hi Guys and Gals,

Been a while. Thought I would resurect this failure to show some of the history.

The Diesel was to large, to tall, needed a body lift not a body drop. the starter was where the throttle pedal should be and with the 6 cylinder rear housing it would have probably been where the passanger LCA would be. along with very little room for an oil pan. Worth the time, money and efforts to say I tried. Going to keep the engine for a Jeep or suburban project later.

I had picked up a C5 Corvette IRS and was playing with the idea of swapping in the full running gear... with tranmissions (divorced and transaxle with torque tube) running between 1200-1500 and how much a LSX build could snow ball I was leaning away from putting $3500+ into an engine and trans. I would have also had to narrow the rear some as with my 20's I was around 75 inches wide, a stock C5 being 73.5, and my s10 cab at 67 inches I was not looking forward to tackling some wide body mods.

Well, I don't want to take the credit for thinking about this swap I'm sure you've seen bagged83dime's thread.

I was able to get everything from a 06 pontiac solstice. it had about 70K on it... we will see if that is true when i get power to the odometer...

on to the pics:

Space under the hood BD to the rockers:

A big Thank You to Taylor and the guys @ MMW for building my custom 4-link I wanted above!

MMW Parts!!! Truss and a few other parts are still coming, but this lets me get started on mock up. V3 arms, no notch tie rods, Watts, and Parallel 4-link built to about a 2.5 to 1 ratio... should ride real nice! Can't say enough good things about MMW. I won't be going anywhere else!

These pics are with the cab mocked up to be doored, with it slid back an inch... that won't work so I moved the cab up... I don't have any pics of that yet. I also have decided to be just a little up from being true doored, to save on headache's, and if I decide to put rockers back on it I can always put a body lift on it right? LOL

I should make some serious progress this week... the Goal is August, for my Wedding and the Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan... I've got alot of work...

Thanks - Ben "Buckshot"
