I have been asked to work on a Truck show series that would start in California this year in August. What they want to bring to the table is a one day event to compete with the Truck Jam. I know in recent years Truck Jam has suffered because of past owners. So my question is what would you think of a show that is all trucks in a great location. What I what to do is bring a new show to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Wild Rivers Irvine Ca the dates would be August 21st 2011. Yes that's right it is the old home to Truck Jam.

the classes are prolly the weirdest part of those "truck-only" shows. that leaves 300 s-10's, 20 tacomas and 20 mazdas not forgetting a few of the others out there. lately the top 50-75-100 shows ive attended have been quite a nice change. old shows with bikini contests were always huge as well, and not just hiring/bringing in strippers to win. im sure you have more than enough "old school" memories from shows BOB, im just tryin to chime in on the ones i used to hit back in the late 80's, early 90's. maybe have a "retro" class. some of those trucks that just impressed and have been huge impacts on the scene. fester has a few, lol

Not a huge fan of all truck shows either. I dont mind them per se, but it leaves a lot of people (and their vehicles) out in the cold. Around wher I live, there are a bunch of smaller size clubs and crews that roll very diverse rides, everything from spo-coms to old trucks and minis, and even a few muscle cars, bagged or otherwise. Ususally they stick pretty tight, so if somebody has to leave their ride in the parking lot, everybody else stays home too. You miss out on a lot of really good stuff that way.

I do like the idea of an all truck show that isn't Suck Jam. I stopped going to that show 4 years ago because of the owner and unorganized staff. I don't go or show. Please, if you do hold and event there, don't make all of the show vehicles drive through the dusty dirt to get to the grass show area. Its just plain stupid. There are plenty other ways to set up that park.

I am not a fan of an all truck show. Back in the old days Truck jam always had a few cars in mascot class plus the stereo competition had cars in it. I understand not wanting half of a truck show full of cars but I don't see a problem with limiting the amount of cars or prequalifying them to a certain standard to attend. If you do make it all truck show, don't let in and have confusing classes for cars like Pt Cruisers or HHRs.

I am not a huge fan of Lion Country Safari. I like the area around the entrance and the lake but the last few Truck Jams I went to didn't utilize this area very well. The back grass area is dusty or muddy

Okay getting some good input I have non truck people also in my club. This group that came to me suggest trucks only and I like you have my reservations about that. I don't want anyone to be left out either. I also have shown in that park and it is not my favorite location either. Here is one thing I don't want to put my name out there on this thing if they don't want to listen to what the people want.
