please explain????????????????

im sitting here reading the new minitruckin and in the construction zone is toyota just on 18s and it says . Stock upper arm flipped and switched from driver to passenger side. Im just not understanding why this is done

If im not mistaken its to tuck more wheel ....so ive been told

not sure about that but i know nissans do it ...you can flip the ball joints from under the control arm to the top that i have done but the other not sure

It can help sometimes with the upper balljoint angles.

from my understanding, you flip the upper control arms, kinda like flipping the balljoints. this is done to cure some binding issues with the upper balljoint angles, then you switch sides so that the spindle will line up with the upper balljoint.

swapping sides after flipping is usually done to help correct the caster.

The arms are symmetrical about the frame mount. By flipping them you correct the BJ angle but now the caster is WAY off, so you have to swap sides to fix that. By flipping and swapping sides all you do is change the BJ angle. It will help you tuck bigger wheels but will limit lift.

since we are on about yota front arms ...my truck has tube uppers with no spacers ....but one side has neg camber locked and the other has none to the eye ! what would cause this? i have my ball joints on top of the lower arms

Toyota arms are symmetrical in shape, swapping sides wont do anything. Flipping them upside down helps if you need to ball joint travel, but it doesn't make sense to me. You can lay a 25" tire on a drop spindle with unmodified stock arms. Having the arm flipped would limit lift, unless you have huge wheels on stock spindles. Plus most arms are ugly upside down.
