anyone done this mod ? , i want to drop the body down as much as possible without a regular body drop or stock floor i do know the trans tunnel has to be raised 2 or so inches.

Its alot of work but if you have the time it can be done. Grind the rivets and punch them through, drop it down and weld the mounts back on. You can also use different body mounts that are thinner to get it lower without moving the mounts.

come people i know someones dropped their mounts on a burb , it looks like i can cut them off the frame and drop them down a bit , this will suffice until i can do a body drop on it.

anyone know if ya gotta z the rear of the frame to get it to lay out flat ? (after bagging and/or body dropping).

check out www.tahoeyukonforum.com there are some guys on there who have done something like this on 00-06 tahoes. i think they use s10 body mount bushings. not sure though.

cut the rivets out and replace the factory body mounts with 4 link end link bushings.
that will get you down.
if your already doing the trans tunnel and need a little more to lay you may as well channel it a bit and do it all at once.

i'll look into that type of mod , i was thinking i could cut the mounts off the frame and lower them and reweld then trim off any that was below the frame but not sure how to do the rear by 3rd seat , have to get it up on a lift and look LOL.

I know this doesn't really answer your question but if you plan on doing a stock floor later... I like what John Beebe of DropEm Wear did on my old suburban. Its kind of like a reverse stock floor. "Z" the frame in the front and then weld in your box tubing on the inside of the TOP of the frame and not the bottom, then cut off the bottom of the frame flush with the rockers. You still have the same front suspension geometry and you dont have to mess with the body mounts at all, no cutting them off and moving them. Just something to think about if you plan on body dropping it later.
