Hello every one, i have been reading the forums for a cpl months while over here in afghanistan, and got lots of great info. Also i have gotten more questions also. I have a 99 dakota. My plans include installing air bags, narrowing the rear end, and using a triangular 4 link. I want to use the bag over bar setup. I have 20`s ordered for it. I have ordered the air management kit from quality air(sucide doors) with the re7 bags. I got the cups for a full size chevy for the front. The one thing i am not sure of is what to use on the rear, the wishbone design, or the triangulated 4 link. Is one much different than the other? Or is it more a builders preference? I am planning to move the gas tank, just seems like it would be easier to get it out the way, so i wont have cut corners on the placement of the bars. I want it do some side to side movement, and have some decent travel, not too much worried about laying the frame on the dirt, but close. Any input would be appreciated.

They are very similar in function, it often comes down to what will work best with the rest of the design of the truck. Wishbones do require some attention to the fact that it places the force at a single point rather than spreading it out over two as with the 4 link, so keep that in mind.

Get the universal tri 4link that has the bungs you weld in to set the bar length. It is very easy to set up since its very easy to make the bars any length you like. Since you are moving the gas tank you should have no problem with it.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah that is the one thing, since i am not at home, and not able to measure for thr 4 link, to order it. I am guessing that the bar length depends on how and where i put the bracing for the upper bars. I see some set ups where the lower bars are outside the frame, looks like where the leaf spring bracket is located to the axle. The best way to measure the bars is with the leaf springs in place, and from the point i determine where i will run the center brace measure to the axle, for the uppers. And how much of a tolerance should i allow for adjustment of the bars? I do like the idea of the universal 4 link, make my own cuts of the bar length.
The fuel cell is something i am still looking into, that product to allow me to use the stock pump looks good. I have seen one other fuel cell, and the guy had the stock pump siliconed in, not the best lookn job.
