A buddy of mine has a 84 c-10 and was needing to know if the front clip need to be Z'ed. Is this what people commonly do with these trucks?

usually you need to Z these trucks, to get them to lay flat frame, or purchase a drop member from Porterbuilt, and be good to go!

how many inches?

it varries. I dont know the exact amount, any truck ive worked on, ive installed a porterbuilt drop member on, and it worked like a dream.

yeah he said he couldn't afford the drop member so he was just wanting to Z it. It would be easier for him to do

you will just have to measure that specific truck to find out your Z amount.

Lots of info on that site about 60-66, 67-72, and 73-87's. I haven't built one but from what I remember (could be wrong) reading on many of the build threads is they need 1.5-2" to lay frame and about 3" to lay rocker (with 2x4 inside the stock frame and the bottom 1-2" cut off)

does anyone have any pics they could post?
