First off, My current gas tank which is "supposedly" only 5 years old. (Owner said it was replaced not long ago, was a nice old guy so i believe him, plus it looks in great shape) Anyhow, it appears to be leaking. I don't see no physical damage anywhere on the tank, however the lower 1 inch of the tank is soaked. There is no leaks dripping or spraying on the tank. So I'm guessing its seeping through the tank. I assumed it was rusting through, however i pulled the tank and briefly looked inside and it looks fine? I figured i would see rust, but maybe not?

So i have a few choices, get a new tank about $160. Get the gas tank sealer stuff and hope that fixes the tank about $60. Or get a fuel cell...about $$?? I want a few cell later down the road anyways so i don't mind spending the money now. However i don't really get what i need or how it works.

So i would need a fuel cell, a fuel pump? Either inline or intank, and whatever it is to make it work with a stock 91 mazda b2600 gas gauge is this correct? Anything else? Also, Can i get a setup with intank pump that is going to be plug in play? I mean i can splice wires and what not, but will the fuel pump bolt up to the cell, and then its a matter of hooking up the hoses and wires?

Sorry for all the questions, I just need some help...ThanksDee

fuel cells are nice looking. it really depends on what your doing down the road. personally every mazda ive ever built i use the stock tank and relocate it. when they are cleaned and repainted black or whatever color your truck is, they look good.

that way you dont have to mess with fuel cells, fuel gauge being wrong, fuel pumps, leaks.

you need to use google and look up your trucks info. i forget if the 2600i has the pump in the tank, i think its mounted to the frame, but i havent touched a 2600i in years (their transmissions are weak and break second gear on hard shifts)

really its totally up to you, your wallet, and what you want your truck to look like down the road.
