I am looking to twin turbo a 350 4-bolt main thats in my 82 c-10 which has become a donar motor for my cadi. The drivability of my car is getting harder and harder with the motor/trans set up because of gas prices.

So i have decided to swap motors from my c-10 to the cadi (and cadi motor to the chevy) so i can drive it more often and not break the bank. I remember seeing a few twin turbo set ups on carburated motors and was curious as to what i needed to accomplish this. I'm not looking to run high boost or anything crazy.

Any help is appreciated.

Theres alot of good thread out there for the 350. ive seen them run two ways dual blow throgh carbs. or two into one with a big blow through carb. good luck with the build

How much gas could you buy for the price of twin turbos?

i was hoping that i could get away from using a blow through carb but all the forums point straight to that.

My car costs about 115 to fill @4.20 a gallon (have to run premium cause the compression ratio is 10.5/1), a full tank lasts 220 miles. i live 10 miles one way from work... do the math

So is the twin turbo set up to get better gas mileage? I'm confused.

well there's your first problem 10.5:1

drop that compression to 8.5 or 83/4:1 and use cheap gas.

with the turbos you can easily make 7-8 psi and still be in the 500+ range, with AC on, idling around 600-650, and probably gettin 20-25mpg..

if your carb'd there is no other way then blow through. well, sort-of, you could mount the carbs next to the turbos and draw the air/fuel mix in the turbos and then to the manifold..

sounds like your runnin the turbos more for looks then actually makin power with them

Twin turbos increase the efficiency of your engine until you press the go pedal even better would be a 6.5 liter chevrolet turbo diesel.
I was entertaining the idea with my caddi. It would bolt rt up in place of a big block and they get up to 30 mpg when geared and tuned rt. plus they are fairly inexpensive.

just the tuning part sucks with carbs id suggest a wideband controller to tell ya if its running rich or lean
