I wanted to keep this rendering a secret until the truck was painted.I have had the rendering since 8-12-07....the truck isnt close to paint....why not share what I think is a cool idea...Who knows if it will ever get finished...the ball is in Kyle Hollenbachs hands, who has had the truck for 7 years...The 22Below works as a wheel reference and a cold reference.I wanted the ice effect to look like its floating on water.I created all the "flamed ice" design and Nick put it all together. What do you guys think, and has anything been done like this before??

That looks sick man. I have been following this build for a while and look forward to seeing you finish it. Keep up the good work

it makes me think of that black ranger with the real flames "fire" comeing from the bottom of the truck.

i like the idea, looks good. im not into the taillights, if they were clear lenses it would flow better.

I like it. Never seen "Real Ice" painted on a Mini-truck or anything that wasn't carrying ICE. Real "cool" idea. Also love the front end. It's also my opinion that the tails should be clear. LED crystal clears. They'd look real nice. Don't let a slow moving customizer take the wind out of your sails. The rule of the shop game is OUTTA SIGHT, OUTTA MIND. Maybe you start dropping by the shop often, and calling to check the progress? You know? I would have to have taken my truck back about 6 years ago. And no "deal" or "homey hook-up", or even free work would change that. But that's me. Good luck man. I want to see this thing done!

I agree, clears in the rear would work really well with the ice/paint.But it is going to be hard to swallow the huge cost of those GT taillights...($900)Wonder if they would work on the Excursion...and I used to drive 50 miles once a weekend to see the truck, hoping that would spur on more work on the truck...that didnt work, so I have come to terms of little progress over the years

You could try selling the taillights or paint over them, i dont think they would look too great on the Excursions boxyness

other than that the only thing id change is the wheels, Billets :TUP:

I'm with N2BNLOW about taking the truck back a long time ago. Granted Kyle CAN do some bad ass work but unless he's doing it completely free, parts and all, why let him keep working on it? It's been years since I've been to his shop and seen it, how much more has been accomplished? Is it even close to being done? Last I heard he was only doing custom bikes now and making damn good money at it so maybe it's time to go pull it out of there, get your money back for time lost, and let someone else finish it. There's plenty of great builders out there and I'm sure one of them can finish it how you want it.
