I talked to Bob today about putting myself out there for all to see. This topic will be about myself and my background, the next topics I post up will be builds and how to's.
My name is Ryan Alford, I am a member of the Central Texas Chapter of =SUNSET=. I just recently opened up my own business doing sheetmetal fabrication for pretty much anything. Basically, you tell me what you want and I will make it happen. I am not a big shop like so many out there, I am just a 1 man operation with a skill that I got from the military and working in Aviation for so many years. I have a lot of projects planned for the near future just to throw some ideas out there on what I can do. There are so many shops that do bag jobs, bodydrops, etc. I am trying to focus on the "accessories" of the scene. And not just the minitruckin scene, I grew up around hotrods and that is where my passion is. My latest creation was for Bert Polasek and his Toyota, which you all should be seeing featured in both MiniTruckin and Street Trucks magazine sometime this year. He told me what he wanted, drew it out, together we changed up a few things and I handmade everything in my garage and workshop. He also took Best Interior at Pandemonium this year and top 150 at TexMex.
To give a few ideas of what I will be getting into in the near future, custom picture frames, a full bar, home furniture, and things like that. If I get orders for automotive interiors then that is what I will be working on but I am not limited to bomber seats and trophies, which is what I have been hit up for a lot lately haha. Currently I am building a dash and a set of door panels for a customer out of California. He saw my work on facebook and asked me to come up with an interior for his 88-98 model Silverado. I will be posting up a how to on this build very soon.
I have a fulltime job working on the airport here in Temple, Tx and I do everything when I get off my regular day to day grind. Maybe one of these days I will be able to go full time with my business but for now it is part time. Please check out my website
www.ryanssheetmetaldesigns.webs.com or hit me up on facebook at
ryanssheetmetaldesigns@yahoo.com. I will begin posting on this site very soon on how to do what I do. Remember, how to's are great but it still takes many years of practice and many thousands of dollars in tooling to do what I do, so hit me up instead hahaha.
