I'm having some issue I've never seen before, maybe someone here has seen this before. I'm baggin' a 73 Chevy Dually with the Exstensive front kit and SS8 Slams. It's a solid plate that bolts to the spring perch with a angled cup that sits in the LCA. When the truck lifts, it lifts real slow to about 35 psi or so. Then each bag sorta "pops" then lifts to 100 psi or so really quickly. I assumed it was the lower cup moving since they float in the LCA, but it's not. I watched the bags and they seem to have to get a certain amount of pressure then they complete the inflation. Almost like when the bag is deflated it makes a suction on the upper plate then "pops" when more pressure is added. I'm wondering if the cup is pushing the bottom of the bag too far into itself, but the back doesn't do it at all. The bags are compressed evenly and don't rub on anything, just this weird issue. Any help?

kinda sounds like you control arms maybe to tight???

Everything seems to cycle properly, just for some reason because the upper plate is bigger than the bag, unlike most plates where the bag is actually bigger than the plate, the bag seems to create a suction against the upper plate. When a bag deflates the actual bag comes up as high as the bags mounting plate, but there is a little ring-like gap that's created. It seems like the bag traps air in that gap when it's deflated, then when it lifts it has to break that seal to continue lifting. I'm wondering if drilling some holes in the upper plate will relieve that suction when it's dumped? Or applying some sort of grease where the bag will touch the upper plate to eliminate sticking? Not sure about grease on the bag though, just doesn't seem like a good idea. It's a pretty basic bolt-on kit from Ekstensive, so I'm sure someone somewhere has seen this or dealt with this. Worst case I will call Exstensive tomorrow to research it.

I see what you're saying too, like maybe the lower cup is forcing the bag to compress TOO much, causing that issue. Only thing is that how it is installed is how it is intended to be installed, meaning other people would probably have the same issue. I have thought of possibly eliminating the lower cup and just welding in a flat lower plate, but I really don't want to fuck with those arms again if I don't have too!! They're heavy as shit!! LOL

Its the SS bags, I had the same problem with a Continental I just did on SS7s. After cycling it a few times it seems to have stopped.

Same here, its an SS bag thing.

the front of my truck did the same thing.... would start to lift... then just spring up fast. I thought it was my suspension binding or something like that, but after a few times cycling it, it stopped.

Kind of a weird problem really.

Awesome guys, thanks. I've never used these SS8's, so I was sorta in the dark on these. When I ordered these I talked to AVS about them and they said the only difference between SS and RE's are the bags mounting plates. Wonder if they plan on figuring out why they do this. Anyway, thanks for the help.
