from what I understand the scene their isn't very strong. We have one petitioning guy in Detroit. I don't think he comes on here too much. you can go to www.noregrets.cc/forums join and check the Michigan section of the forums out and he might be able to help you.

i dont think there is alot of anything going on there at this point. the whole city seems to be in perils with the whole economy and job losses. you might be able to hit a close or surrounding area tho. i will get with a few guys from s10forum and see what they are saying. good to have you in the states!!

Well, not sure how often you two are in detroit, but with how off your answers are, im going to guess not very often.

Detroit has plenty of minis, full sizes and customs in general. The whole state is full of them to be honest, but detroit and its surrounding areas have PLENTY of minis. Great sites to check into are oaktowntrucks.com and greatlakescustoms.net. The city has been fucked by the recent economic situations, thats certain, but were talking about minis here, not riddler builds. If anything, there are more people building minis now than 10 years ago in detroit and its surrounding areas, there affordabble and easy to build ..... and in michigan, you can find them plentiful.

I myself am from the middle area of michigan, but the areas around michigan to find a higher content of minis is the Detroit area north to flint, and west to grand rapids. Once you get up north of flint, it dies off pretty good. Saginaw, Midland and Bay City area have a modest amount.

What kind of vehicle are you looking for, anything inperticular?

I think the main reason nobody really knows much about the scene up there is because they keep having Draggin Detroit the same weekend as Camp N drag, and they really do not do very much to promote the show from what I have seen. I sent them a bunch of stuff and sponsored it 2 years ago but, I've never been up there for it, and its only a 2hr drive.

Geesh, reading a bit too far into it apparently. Nobody is upset, lol.

I guess i should have just agreed, or not answered the question.

Yea, draggin detroit is a pretty terrible example really. From 05-09 it was a pretty good show, but numbers dropped when camp-n-drag came about, and with due reasoning, that show is fantastic!

Draggin detroit could use a name change to Donkin' Detroit or something along those lines. Its gone more that way lately. to be honest most detroit metro people that are into these kind of vehicles just deal with the fact that they have to travel for shows, its how it is really. There are some good ones within 5 hrs driving distance.
