My 01 Ranger extended cab is stock floored, but the floor is far from stock! There's no way a prefab/preformed carpet will fi considering the tranny and driveshaft tunnel and new floor sheetmetal. So this leaves me with have to have or made(which the budget will not allow) or doing it myself with the help of a family member that has some great sewing skills. What material should I use? I was thinking it would have to be done in four pieces, 1 over the tranny, 1 over the driveshaft, and one for either side and have them slightly overlap.Any suggestions?

Sounds fine, I assuming you dont have a center console? I ask because the console will cover the center and you could slit a stock carpet down the middle. Hotrods do it like you want and hem the edges with another fabric to make it look clean. They use a thinner carpet tho, since that was the type used back then.

Yup, no center console yet...not even sure when or how I'm going to make one yet.

Here's an idea, pretty much the way Dave described. Hope it helps!

That green interior looks killer!
Thanks for the support, I figured what I had in mind is what most already do.
