There was one guy on SSM that replied to that thread that brought up the best piont out of any other comment - Was that little bit of sparks worth losing your whole truck? -

how do you explane that to your insurance adjuster

dont get me wrong i will drag once in a great while but its a fade that will wear out for me, but i will not drag for long distances and watch my truck go up... i will have a extinguisher in the cab and in the bed .... but long drag sessions will not occur for someone elses thrill, not worth all the time and investment to watch it burn.. sorry not my thing

i allso think he rubbed through the gastank or the electrics at least .
sparks look cool but think about it : you spend all this time and cash to make the truck look imaculate from the chassis up then you air out the bags and scrape all that expensive paint off the bottom again down to bear metal and beyond .
i think i would do it a little different by bolting vertical plates of steel up to the chassis that stick out under the suspension by an inch or so and spark those up , if there done just replace with new plates

Well I guess Im just a dumbass. I drag my shit and dont think twice about it. Ive railed TowNasty for miles pulling a trailer before. And they dont call my other truck DragNasty for nothing. But I do have sense enough to prepare my truck for dragging. Everytruck I built is built to rail, and thats exactly what we do with them.

And that's exactly what makes the difference. Common Sense. I'm down for draggin, but you don't have to be a cashier at the super Wal-mart to figure out that draggin' your gas tank or any other vital parts is not good. If you take the time and precautions from the very start, and keep up on the obvious maintainace, you should be draggin with no problems..... Just ask Chase! He's famous!

^^^ well stated and in no way was i saying anything negative about chase or his draggin ability... i was jsut trying to say that people need to realize and build things right and with the intent of draggin and suchnot jsut bag and drag but be prepared and build it with the mindset that have to be a lil more cautious .. but that is right if u build it for a purpose you usually overbuild or prepare to make things better then to jsut do it and be done... my truck is being built with the same mindeset of chases it will drag but i had trevor build it so there was no issues what
so ever either

damn that sucks bad.

drag responsibly!

I dunno, it's easy for me to slam dragging, just because it's not really my thing, but that's what some people are into, so...whatever.

I don't see the thrill in running a truck ragged just to see some sparks. Overbuilding for this purpose just seems silly to me.

...but then again, 5/7's and 16's seem silly to others.

To each his own, I guess.

I love you Chase.
