First off I would like to say thank you MT mag for getting the magazine back on track. It has been a few years since I have even picked one up but, I have been a mini trucker for over 10 years. Even though I've been without a show truck these past few years I've been driving a mini daily. A few years ago I made a pact to no longer subscribe to the mag, in it's current state. There were more pictures of tattoo's, skateboards, chicks, and dude's drinkin beer, then there were trucks. I bought a MT today and was pleasantly surprised. I will be renewing my subscription.

Besides the magazine, there were other reasons I removed myself from the scene. The younger generation seemed to be all about partying, women, breaking shit, and hating on everyone's ride but their own. The MT community should help each other in anyway possible. Everyone should be working together to make the scene better, not destroy it. Almost all of the big shows I went to 10 years ago are now gone. We need show the rest of the world we can behave ourselves and that we deserve national shows.

Help each other. Work together. Don't hate. Give compliments. Behave in public. Drive low. and hold your head high.

I plan to get an hombre in the next few weeks to cut up. I hope to find the scene and fellow minitruckers less focused on booze, boobs, and breaking shit, and more focused on trucks and bring people together.

Well you have been missing out for a long time. The mag has been done well for quite a while. Everytime a new editor comes into play you have to expect some change good or bad is personal opinion. I'm greatfull to everyone who has supported the mag without all of you it would be gone by now.

I have been reading this mag for many years , what sent me into my long on going build, & enjoying all the trucks & people I meet along the way!Yeah a lot of the younger generations are into what only destroys the Mini Truck'in scene, but there are a lot of people that try & do good & keep Mini Truck'in alive!!We must be excepted into the hot rodding world if we are to stay alive & show our rides along side the many ,many rodders out there!!And I do as much as possible @ the shows that are open to all rides!!

gotta agree the mag has turned around for the better. also an older minitrucker with a family and for a while thought i was gonna give up on shows and minitruckin in general because of the stupid drunks and skanks ( not something i wanted to bring my kids to) as the scene gets older the shows change and so do the people and quality of the rides. john has made some changes and it looks good. think the best run was when finnegan ran it could have been the time and econoomy too because the quality of trucks at that time were top notch

How will the scene get older when there will always be young/new people getting into the scene?

I'm sure there will always be "those" type of minitruckers who like the 3 D's: drink, drag, and destroy. You have to take the bad and the good but you can control a lot of that by choosing who you hang out around. Don't let a small percentage of the people rain on your parade. Be responsible, build nice trucks, and try to pass that on to the newer guys and hope everyone does the same. That's all you can do really. There's going to be douches in every scene.

I agree with getting into the hot rod world. There are no longer any true mini trucks in production. The only talk of one is a scion truck like vehicle with fwd, awd, and hybrid configurations. Some day the scene could easily be part of the hot rod world, with the era of body on frame gas powered mini trucks a thing of the past.

and some of those young kids getting into it now are 2nd generation minitruckers. also the quality of the trucks a 30 something year old guy building a mini is spending more time with the details which equals a better quality ride.
