Magnum laying body by Tre5 Customs

My buddy Scottie from Havasu came to me to get his Magnum all the way down. He juiced the car himself over a year ago, but it wasn't quite low enough for him. So we are cutting and trimming the necessary body parts to lay the rockers flat on the ground.
In the rear we leaned the strut towers inward because the tires were already hitting them. They were welded and then plated with 16 ga and welded again. (sorry for the blurry pics)

We also had to cut out for the tires at the front of the wheel well and notch for the half shafts and control arms, but I didn't get pics of that yet.

Up front we removed all the factory sheet metal, cut out for the upper control arm, and then for the tire.

Already started putting some sheet metal back in up front.

Jacked the tire up with the fender on.

We still need to tie up all the loose ends, so I'll take some more progress pics.

Haha. He's a good buddy of mine. And when he offered to do my seats in the Audi... I couldn't say no. I will say I am happy to have done it (well, it's not done yet).

I need to get a car that the factory suspension lays out and looks sick. Building suspension sucks!! those fenders are soo much taller than mine i can barely lay body without coming over the fender. I've always wanted to get one of these cars, throw FWD offset wheels on it like the ones I have on Lincoln, hammer it, fix camber and just drive it. Was the back suspension more work than the front? Looks good.

You do killer work on everything you touch!

The rear was definitely more work. I notched for the half shafts, notch the pinch weld for the upper control arm, notch for the rear lower control arm, and drop the front lower control arm down with new tabs. Then tub for the tire... all with the quarter panel in the way. The front is much easier... take the fender off and you have a much nicer area to work in. All I did up front is what you see in the pics, cut out for the control arm and cut out for the tire.

Well you sure make it look easy.
