I agree. I'm a sucker for the pre-81 front ends.

People look at me like I'm nuts when I tell 'em I'm not swapping the front sheet metal on my '79. It's just got this vintage look to it that I absolutely love.

I do like the post-80 front ends as well. They have a cool look to them as well. If I had to choose though, it would be pre-81.

I guess I would say that when it comes to squarebodys, whatever year I bought, I would run the front end that came with it.

Welcome to the site...

Nice truck man. Its a cross between the last two trucks i had. Had a 1978 crew cab single axle with a red interior and a 1988 crew dually with a blue interior. Both were black so i'm kinda partial to the color.

I never did understand why GM went with the horizontal side marker lights in the later years...it looks soooo much better when they match the dually marker lights like on your truck. Me jealous now.

P.S. dont forget your ratchet that was under the truck in the one picture!

Y'know, I never noticed that.

I mean, I knew that the newer front ends had the horizontal marker lights, but I never really noticed that the older, vertical marker lights matched the marker lights on the fenders. Good eye, Cowboy!

Pretty sweet. Makes me love those front ends even more!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I have no idea, they were in it when I bought it. It appears to be one of those aftermarket seats with the middle flip down cupholder and flip up seat that has the storage under it. Very comfy, and great for hiding things.

The rear is already notched and bagged but still riding on leaf springs. As soon as I get around to buying a welder then it will be 4-linked. And the front will come soon after
