I am trying to get a 4 link to work within a certain amount of space. My question I have is: Is there a bad disadvantage to doing style B over style A?

There is no difference in the 2. What matters is the pivot points themselves. The link bar could be shaped any way and it wouldnt change the geometry of the setup. Now style B may be needed to avoid hitting something like a bag mount or fuel tank. Also if you wanted to really pick it apart style B would be weaker due to the bend in the red bars creating a stress point but it would be miniscule.

yup, it all depends where the end links are. As long as you still get the same angle/amount of triangulation out of them than it will work just the same. But as said that bend is a stress riser.
