Swaping coolant pipe

My coolant pipe, the one that has the O ring on the end, needs to be replaced. Can this be accomplished without pulling the engine? There was a description of how to do this at the beginning of this site but it was not stated if the engine had been removed first.

Yes you can do it without changing the engine. I've done it before. I think there's a bolt on the side of the block holding it in(14mm maybe) and then you take the hose off the other end and it should pull out easily.
