I've had the ute for coming up a year as my daily. Basically how all good projects start i blew a head gasket so pulled it off the road to pull it apart and fix it.. now i got carried away.
Below is the list of to dos, some o have already started, but any advice from people that have upgraded similar parts would be great, compatable parts, dos and donts and problems encountered. This build will be taking place over the next 6 months and i will post photos as they come.
As it is;
Lowered on reset leafs and wound down torsion bars.
18×8 chrome rims.
Wildcat extractors
270degree cam and associated valve components
The plan;
New Belltech lowering leaf springs
New belltech strett shocks all round
Complete new suspension components(rods, arms etc)
New rims (thinking 16×8 front and 16×10 rears black steelies with a decent offset) to give a low wide stance plus plenty of grip (im going to need it)
Flared guards to take rims
Block rebuild including crankshaft and forged internals (keeping low compression)
Custom fabricated turbo manifold using mild steel.
Intercooler, turbo (t3t4 .50 off a rb25det + associated bits and pieces
Either a megasquirt or Link ECU + tune
LSD
Brake conversion on the rear to disc brakes
Front slotted rotors + braided lines
Longer gear ratio in the gearbox or gearbox conversion (still dont know what)
Lightened flywheel
Exedy HD clutch
Full panel and paint in complete gloss black (get rid of all chrome trim/handles etc)including all bumpers/grill etc
Shaved doors and tray
Tray hardlid cover
Tints all round
Interior completely refurbed in black carpet and black leather, paint all plastic trim, reclinable bucket seats, rear seats removed and half cage installed.
