1991 b2200 ext cab LB 4spd auto
270k all stock ( Vancouver BC area - Sea level +- 100 ft )
225/70/r15 tires. kms corrected to actual over shown (+ 10% )
this is compiled driving the same route to/from work ( 100 km) round trip.
high rise canopy- loaded with 200+ lbs of tools ,
60% Hwy-40% city 100 kph avg on hwy
was parked for a year when purchased.
New Cap Rotor Coil Plugs Wires Air filter
#1-initial was *15 mpg empty
running like S***, stalling with any throttle from a stop ( running full rich) + any other unknown issues, vac leak, sensors, etc ..
#2-Then loaded with tools and canopy *11.5 mpg
#3-Weber 32/36 redline kit install + Egr delete *16 mpg
solved stalling
#4- K-N filter *17 mpg
#5- Pcv Delete no change just smoother response
#6- 2nd cat / stock muffler delete- Cherry Bomb type installed *22 mpg
#7- Clutch fan delete to Elec w/ electric control *23.5 mpg
****** Always had hesitation over 3200 rpm after 10 secs on any hill.
wouldn't climb my hill on the way home over 50 kph @ 3k rpm
but on reg driving it would rev to 4k+ but not sustain it.
#8- Booster Fuel pump (inline low pressure) *24 mpg
<70 kph easily now up my daily hill . ( 60 zone lol )

Anyone have similar exp with booster pumps req with a weber ? or just a weak/plugged stock'r
Looking at installing Pacesetter headers next.. to delete the pre-cat.
Possiable mpg gain exspected ?
Waiting for next road trip to pull canopy off to see what it will get empty. Hoping to be in the 28-30+ mpg range as my canopy is a huge drag.
Any thoughts or opinions on what i could do different . just chasing Fuel mileage, I know that this will never be a hotrod with the 2.2 in it .
$750 purchase + $500 in parts . im still way ahead for its market value now that is running fantastic. Thanks for all the tips/tricks ive read about on this forum. now my chance to return any info i have.
