NEED HONEST OPINIONS

I am working on a couple of body changes on my 2000 regular cab before I get it painted and I want to see what you think this idea. It is a gas cap from and old AC Cobra back in the 60s I was thinking about installing it in palce of the stock gas door. Keep in mind the truck will be 2 tone when painted with a hot rod flat black as the lower color. With the current color the cap looks a little like a hook up for a fire truck but I think that has to do with the red color of the truck. Dont hold back let me know what you think so I dont screw up! Thanks in advance.

It's a very good looking/well built piece, but I notice two things about it. One, it looks like you might have trouble with the cap hitting the nozzle for the gas pump? IDK. Two, I think its really ugly. X2 on the fire truck hook up.

If it were recessed in the side of the truck more do you think it might look better. Just a thought.

I'd like to see an overall side shot to get a better idea of what it looks like...but If I can be brutally honest...I think it looks like ass.

I have to agree, really bad. But maybe if it was mounted somewhere else, idk. But on the side there it is not good.

So far you are confirming my thoughts. I like the idea just not sure if the idea translates into something that looks good. As for as the half shots I dont know why that is happening the actual pictures are full shots.

idea is good but i think it will not look the best ... ie firetruck or hey i found this and jsut slapped it on... i think if it where inside the bed ro somethign it would look good but not on side sticks to far out

Yea i gotta say i dont like it.... even though its functional it reminds me of those Buick vents these guys buy at Pep Boys and slap them on the front finders. The key is to remove (shave) for a cleaner look. just my opinion

Not like you needed another opinion but it does look like shit. It IS a cool piece, just doesn't fit the truck. It might look good on the deck of a C3 Corvette...but on the truck, it just looks like one of those billet gas doors gone wrong.
