I really got a kick in the ass on getting started on my dually. What do yall think my first plan of attack should be.

The paint?? It has that classic peeling paint that my year model was famous for.........

The suspension???? I have a 5/7 drop, but I want to bag it.

I'm kinda leaning toward the bags, cause the 5/7 drop just aint quite low enough for me. So I'm thinking the bags, and then just putting the truck in a tinted primer till I can get started on the paint.

bag it first get the suspension out the way first,... and you would need to get slam bags and then you need to decide how you want to set the rear up, and being that you have a heavy trailer i would suggest bags over the axle for the added towing capacity..

how many dually were at tex mex this year ..

Thanks for the input. I have a brand new pair of firestones sitting on the shelf in the shop. After your post, not sure if I should use them or not.

Well, looks like thats the direction I am heading. I got a price quote from a buddy of mine that used to own a shop in College Station that did bags. Now he does it in his shop at home. He told me $1000 to $1200 if i bought the parts. Does that sound like a reasonable price?

hey man, i seen your truck at the show. i have the other one just exactly like it that was there. white, 5-7 kit and peeling paint i am getting ready to do the bags on mine too. i am a using the firestone 7200 big bags on back of mine. i used them on my other dually that i use to pull my fifthwheel with, and i liked them. they rode very good, and lasted good as well. i have heard good thing about the slam bags too though. later, brian

Dang, should have stopped and said hi. Hell I would have given you a ride on the boat.

I guess i could use the firestone 2600's on the front, and order the slam bags for the back. Or is that not a good idea?

do you have 4 2600's? you could use the 2600s all around if you want. i have used the firestone bags several times with no issues. if you alreadt have them, run them. do you tow any thing other than your boat? dammit! i wish i would have introduced myself! i am into drag boats, and did in fact drool over your boat a little! i would have loved a ride for sure!!!! i will holla next time for sure... later, brian

Nah, i just have 2. They were originally bought for my 48 chevy project, the other 2 are already installed on that deal. But now that I bought this dually, the 48 is being put on the back burner till I get this dually done. I do tow a 31 foot bumper pull travel trailer, but only on ocasion. And that thing is HEAVY.

Well hell, Somerville isnt very far from Kileen. I am at Somervill almost every weekend when it warm.
