I have check engine code DTC Code P1345 looked on the internet and all I can find is
CMP sensor
CKP sensor
timing chain
Distributor cap and rotor, hold down bolt

does anyone know how to test the sensors or fix the problem?

looks like the timing is jumping around or the ecm thinks so. what r we working on mileage etc.? there really isn't a good way to check those sensors without and o-scope.

the errors is when the DTC sees that the CMP and CKP (camshaft and crank shaft) sensors are not in sync with each other.

how many miles on the truck?, the error refers to a
1 loose CMP (camshaft position sensor) sensor causing a variance in the sensor signal.
2 excessive free play in the timing chain and gear
3 incorrect installed distributor-1 tooth off
4 loose dist rotor
5 broken ,worn wire connections

if you can give more info....

I think that after about 2-3 more 30packs I will get to the bottom of the P1345

btw from what I can tell the cam is ok........

I replaced one of those gears years ago on my 74 fleetside, (back in the 80s.)
I made a mistake and put the dam gear upside down
i think the beers did it.
well to make a long story short, the dist wouldnt drop back in all the way,was about 1/2 inch from flush...found it after looking at another dist..

just an FYI drinking and working on trucks can cost you a lot of money but the end resalt can be way cooler then intended
