wanting to see if any of you guys could maybe get me a measurement. what im looking for is the carb height with air cleaner on a big block 454. I hoping somebody has a fairly stock motor and has taken the quardrajet off and ran a different carb that requires a adaptor plate.

would a holley 850cfm be too much for a stock 454.... im thinkin it might be but i can get it cheap so was wondering what any of you guys thought.

I cant help you cause with the edelbrock intake the water donut and the airaid adapter my TBI only has 4" of clearance of the hood so I cut the support out

An 850 is a little big but you could probably jet it down to work ok.

A 850 is way too big for a BBC in a dually. I would look at a Holley 750 vac secondary. 850 would be great for a 3000lb camaro not for a 8000lb dually. PM me if you have any questions.
