best way is to count number of teeth on ring gear and on pinion gear

put a lug nut on one of the studs and mark one side of the yolk, then turn it and count how many times the yolk makes a complete circle until the lug nut goes bac to the position it was in when u started ............................

so if the yolk turns four and and a half times to make the lug nut come bac to the spot where u started it it would be a 4:56 to 1 gear ratio ......... make sense?

number of teeth on your ring gear divided by the number of teeth on your pinion gear = gear ratio

or u could just do it my way and u wont have to count each individual teeth but its up to u ...............

I allready counted the teeth on the ring gear, witch is 41, how many different pinions are there for the 14 bolt? (as far as factory stuff)

then both sides would have to run perfectly the same, right?
